MY CLIMATE IS CHAOS

My Climate is Chaos is a one-person show interrogating change, and unravelling of our climate in the face of violent denial. The play presents “Alby”, a performer and creator coming to the end of their tether, coming undone due to the external madness of climate collapse, which are mirrored by the internal storms of personal crisis.

I’m non-binary person navigating the path of formal diagnosis for ADHD. Openly accepting both of these labels, and coming out to friends and family over the last decade, led me to an excavation of my own past; the stories that I’ve told - to myself and others - helping me explain how I became the way I am.

My Climate is a poetic, urgent clarion call to our growing indifference to ecological collapse. Exploring both the colonialist myths of Australia’s settling and several ecological case-studies epitomising climate collapse, you will leave this show knowing more about the Northern Collared Lemming than you expected.

The play is dense and funny, violent and heartwarming, using performance to open a discussion we all must have: how do we face the potential end of our civilisation; with defiance, or denial?

My Climate Is Chaos will debut in the Adelaide Fringe 2027, supported by The Mill and the Adelaide Fringe Fund.
